Deepika Padukone to lead the 28th Indian annual parade

Deepika Padukone who made it in first go with her noteworthy performance in Om Shanti Om will be leading the 28th Indian Day Parade as Grand Marshal on August 17 to celebrate India’s 61st Independence Day.

Federation of Indian Associations (FIA), the organizers of this parade, have chosen Madison Avenue in Manhattan as the venue this year. Also, present at the occasion will be former Indian President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam confirmed the FIA President Yash Paul Soi. And, the prime agenda of this year annual parade will to highlight on Indian American progress and unity and harmony with other communities.

Deepika has taken the pledge from Priyanka Chopra who had donned the hat of Grand Marshal last year where Sunita Williams was the Guest of Honour.
